It goes without saying that COVID-19 has changed the way many of us live our daily lives. For Camden residents with little ones to keep engaged at home, the number of activities available in an apartment can be limited! One solution that will activate children’s imaginations and promote quality family time is participating in the arts together. We’ve put together a list of Houston-based arts schools that have put their curriculums online for all to enjoy during this time!
1. The Institute of Contemporary Dance Houston is also offering online dance classes for children of all ages! The Institute of Contemporary Dance is well known for its experienced educators and captivating performances and programs. Their youth dance company performs throughout Houston during their season and are exposed to multiple styles of dance education in preparation for a future career of dance.
Right now, the Institute of Contemporary Dance is offering free online dance classes from their Facebook page! Follow them on Facebook to learn more about their live schedule and to view full-length dance videos.

MilkLoveYoga has fun games, activities, and craft ideas such as Stuffed Animal Yoga, Dinosaur Yoga, and others that can easily be done at home. Yoga is excellent for children of all ages to learn to work on their breath, develop confidence, and manage stress – something we all know children need right now during this time of uncertainty!
3. Prelude Music Classes for Children, a Houston-based music school, is now offering their early childhood music program Music Together® online. Prelude Music Class’s approach to teaching music is unique – they encourage parents to be hands-on, so these online classes are fun for the whole family. The music experts know that children learn differently than adults, through imitation and play, and through interaction with adults and older children. This research-based curriculum not only develops music skills, it nurtures creativity, self-expression, and confidence while also supporting social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.

The bonus of taking one of Prelude Music for Children Class’s online is that your child will have the freedom to run, sing, dance, wiggle, and laugh from the comfort of their home. And, with you having fun alongside them, it will be easy to forget your child is learning! Prelude Music Children Classes are a great way to teach, engage with, and nurture your children during these uncertain times. Here is everything you need to know about the online class schedule.
